Colorado black metal band WAYFARER announced their most fully realized and standout record to date, A Romance With Violence, for release on October 16, 2020 via Profound Lore Records. The album, which has already seen praise from Decibel Magazine, Invisible Oranges, Brooklyn Vegan, The Pit, Metal Injection, and more, takes listeners on a cavalcade of fury, melancholia, and dust-laden storytelling. The fierce and harrowing seven tracks explore triumphant anthems of the high plains and paints of extreme metal.
Today, WAYFARER have released the closing track to A Romance With Violence titled, “Vaudeville“ via Invisible Oranges. About the track, guitarist & vocalist Shane McCarthy shares: “This is us spoiling the end of the movie a bit. This song is where a lot of the threads of the record culminate. It’s like one big traveling show, where all the ethos and tragedy of all of these characters of a romantic world are played out for all to see. It’s a very different sort of song, and maybe gives a little deeper dive into the whole picture of what the record explores.”
A Romance With Violence will be released on October 16, 2020 on LP (all coloured variants are now SOLD OUT), compact disc, and digital via Profound Lore Records.
