FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS – the United States’ only mountain air heavy metal festival and wilderness destination experience, returns to Heart 6 Ranch in Moran, Wyoming – deep in the heart of the Grand Tetons, for it’s biggest and boldest festival to date. Over three days in July, guests will experience an event like no other. Fully immersive and in unity with artistry and nature, guests will reconnect with an awe-inspired sense of beauty and community alongside the festival’s outstanding and deliberate curation of art & music, to reveal a revitalized connection to the natural world.

Curated by the festival’s founding members and in collaboration with guest curator and ENSLAVED guitarist, Ivar Bjørnson, FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS will showcase over 20 extraordinary, never-before-seen live performances. Over the three day festival, the mountain range of the Grand Tetons will breathe new life with raw, unique, and intimate musical experiences featuring diverse artists from the heavy metal underground and beyond – all in front of a backdrop of the mighty Tetons as the sun sets behind them.

About Ivar Bjørnson’s curated lineup, he comments, “The more I get to know Fire in the Mountains Festival and the people behind it, the bigger the joy of curating the «On Wings Over Utgard» I feel – it is such a unique event, not only in terms of its location in nature, but the philosophy behind it and the whole intagible but very much present vibe around it. I am a huge fan of each and every artist asked to be part of my curation, and have been struck by the undivided positivity I received in return for the invitation. They all accepted – in one case it was a delightfully strange case of the artist more or less sitting around thinking he would really love to take his latest music to perform at this exact festival, then my proverbial letter-eagle crashed into his kitchen bearing gald tidings. I consider all «my» artists friends, which will take the whole experience further. Further into the mountains – the much longed-for embrace of nature”.
Taking place on Friday, July 10th thru Sunday, July 12th, FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS is the ultimate return-to-nature and heavy metal experience. Heart 6 Ranch offers camping, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking, and more. Day time activities and workshops include daily yoga, public art exhibits, panel discussions on mythology, Farm-To-Festival barbecue of all locally cultivated food prepared by world culinary specialists, and several unique workshops and experiences that will see attendees interacting in unique ways both with the artists present, and the wilderness around them. FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS diverse and vibrant lineup will span over the three days of the festival and showcase unique and exclusive performances. An all-acoustic, fireside lineup on Friday, July 10th will be announced soon. Saturday and Sunday will feature performances from ENSLAVED (‘On Wings Over Utgard’ set), STEVE VON TILL, YOB, VISIGOTH, HEXVESSEL, a collaborative set with BELL WITCH & AERIAL RUIN, ETERNAL CHAMPION, OBSEQUIAE, YELLOW EYES, WAYFARER, NECHOCHWEN, DREADNOUGHT, TCHORNOBOG, DBUK, HAUNTER, GHOSTS OF GLACIERS, ANICON, LYKOTONON, and more to be announced, including more artists to Ivar Bjørnson’s showcase!
