WAKE
Canadian metal act WAKE have never stood still musically. Whether with blindingly fast tempos, lacerative metallic riffs or achingly ominous, thunderous doom, the band has never feared bending any musical theme to its will. One constant theme has always held every song together, throughout the band’s decade-long history: pure, depressive void. WAKE push to redefine how expansive and dynamic grindcore and extreme metal can be.
In 2020, WAKE released two wildly received albums on Translation Loss Records. The band released Devouring Ruin on March 27th to critical acclaim and landed the album on several year-end lists. The band went on to release an EP titled, Confluence, on October 20th to equal acclaim, and then a single track (Vast & Infinite) for Decibel Magazine’s Flexi Series. In February of 2021, WAKE signed a worldwide record deal with Metal Blade Records.
