NYC black metal solo outfit Woe are set to release the long-awaited new full length, “Legacies of Frailty” on September 29, 2023. The album will be released worldwide through Vendetta Records. Today, Woe have released the opening track to the album. “Fresh Chaos Greets The Dawn” is streaming now at Invisible Oranges.

About the single, multi-instrumentalist Chris Grigg shares:

“Fresh Chaos Greets the Dawn” opens Legacies of Frailty with a few breaths of dream-like peace before launching into a blast of ferocity. The fastest song on the album, it rages with an urgent sense of purpose, introducing listeners to the album’s bleak and foreboding vision, asking “What fearsome beast awakes again to stalk this harrowed earth?” Guitars rip, horns blast, vocals bellow, and drums absolutely pummel, creating one of the most dense Woe songs on the heaviest and most intense Woe album to date.

The song contains many of my favorite riffs in Woe’s catalog. It’s an absolute beast for the rhythm section! Careful listeners might even pick up on melodic themes that are repeated elsewhere in the album. The end of the song features additional drumming from Woe’s longtime drummer Lev Weinstein, who elevates the song to a dramatic peak in its lost moments. This song went through many revisions and was one of the first to be started and last finished. I’m thrilled to finally share it with the world.”

Along with the single release, Woe have unleashed the pre-order for “Legacies of Frailty”. North American and European pre-orders are open.
